At the heart of our work stands the Smiling Gecko Education Campus (SGEC) — a pioneering educational ecosystem currently serving around 550 students from Nursery, Kindergarten, Primary, Secondary and Future High school. The Smiling Gecko Education Campus (SGEC) in Kampong Chhnang Province provides high-quality, bilingual education combined with nutrition, health, and social support to over 550 children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Our innovative model links education with sustainable community development, creating real opportunities for children and their families.
To further strengthen and lead our expanding educational mission, SGC is seeking a dedicated, experienced and visionary School Director from new academic year 2026/2027.
- Provide strategic and pedagogical leadership for all education levels: K-12.
- Provide strategic and academic leadership to ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning.
- Ensure high academic and pedagogical standards aligned with international best practice and Cambodian curriculum requirements
- Oversee curriculum development, teacher training, and student well-being.
- Strengthen community engagement and collaboration with Smiling Gecko’s holistic programs.
- Lead and inspire a multicultural team of educators and staff.
- Represent the school to partners, donors, and the broader community.
- Oversee school operations, budgeting, HR planning, and organisational development
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment for students and staff
- University degree in education or related field; postgraduate qualification in school leadership is a plus
- Has proven experience in school leadership and management.
- Demonstrates a deep commitment to equity, inclusion, and child development.
- Brings expertise in curriculum design, bilingual or international education is a plus.
- Possesses excellent communication, intercultural, and organizational skills.
- Shares Smiling Gecko’s vision of sustainable rural development through education.
- Strong intercultural communication and leadership skills
- Commitment to quality education, child development, and sustainable development goals
- Excellent command of English (Khmer is an advantage)
- Willingness to live and work long-term in rural Cambodia
